POPPY APPEAL CALL!

Would you like to get involved in our next crazy but great idea – The Chipping Sodbury Poppy Cascade!

Duncan & Jo at The Moda House hotel on Chipping Sodbury High Street have kindly offered me the use of the front of their building to display a large poppy cascade display – how amazing – thank you!!

So I’m calling for (and massively appreciate) your help to make it happen ready for Armistice Day

I’d like to be able to raise money for the Royal British Legion as part of this display. Each poppy that is made needs to have a safety pin sewn to it so it can be sold for donations as a pin badge to keep when it comes down. So – we need poppies, and a lot of them!

They can be any size or any pattern – we have a lot of space to fill, they can be knitted, crocheted, needle felted, even sewn if you like! We just ask that the poppies are either red, purple, white or black and have a safety pin sewn to the back.

You can use any poppy pattern and any yarn, entirely up to you, you can also find patterns for knit and crochet poppies at the Royal British Legion website.

The shop will also be a drop off point, and if you live further afield, but would still like to take part, then pop your poppies in the post to us to The Wool Cellar, 27 High Street, Chipping Sodbury, Bristol BS37 6BA – you donations would be very welcome!

I’m thinking that all poppies need to be received by early October so we have time to attach them all to the cascade. It’ll look amazing and raise money for a fantastic charity.
